Business application development and integrations
A custom application makes sense when your process needs something that existing tools do not handle well. I help define that need and develop a solution in stages, with a clear purpose for the people who will use it.
Tell me which task is holding your team back. Let’s review your project.

Internal applications with a specific purpose
We can explore management dashboards, information lookup tools or workspaces connecting tasks, clients and documents. We start with a defined problem. Identifying users and the decisions the application should support prevents an endless feature list.
Integrations and APIs
We analyse how to exchange information between the tools you already use. We review available APIs, permissions, limits and data formats. Connections also need error handling, traceability and a plan for provider changes.
From an idea to a useful first version
The first phase defines users, workflows and acceptance criteria. We then develop a focused version to test the main task. Later phases follow what we learn: what is used, where friction occurs and what the team actually needs.
JCBOS: first-hand software development experience
I am developing JCBOS as my own management environment connecting clients, projects, tasks and documentation. It is an evolving project grounded in real organisational needs. This does not mean that all its features are available as a commercial product.
Usability, permissions and continuity
The interface should make it clear what to do and what happens when something fails. We define access profiles, data validation and responsibilities. We also agree on hosting, maintenance and the documentation the team needs.
What the proposal specifies
Each proposal defines functional scope, integrations, phases, testing and delivery conditions. Third-party licences and maintenance are detailed separately where applicable. Scope changes are assessed before they are added.
Experience, training and documented work
I am Javier Carmona Benítez. My background combines technology since 2007, consulting under my own brand since 2013, teaching and development. My training includes Artificial Intelligence Applied to Business, Big Data Architecture, and Agile Project Management and Scrum. When custom application development makes sense
We review existing tools before deciding to build. A custom application may make sense when you need a specific user journey, information from several systems or a way to remove duplicated work. If an available product already meets the requirement well, configuring and integrating it may be the better option.
We define who will use the application, which problem it solves and which features are essential for a first version. We also review the technical environment and maintenance needs. The decision should account for sustaining the solution as well as building it.
Integrating business tools and data
An integration involves more than sending information between applications. We agree which system owns each data field, how records are identified and what should happen when information changes or duplicates appear. We review APIs, provider documentation and access restrictions.
We then define how operations can be checked and errors detected. Depending on the project, the requirement may involve synchronising information, retrieving it on demand or creating a shared view for the team. Specific capabilities are validated before being included in the scope.
Design, phased development and validation
The initial phase describes the main user journeys and produces a limited version for testing them. We review the interface with its intended users: what they understand, where they get stuck and which information they need to complete a task. Their observations help prioritise subsequent changes.
Each phase has deliverables and acceptance criteria. We test valid and incomplete data, permissions and error handling. Changes that extend the scope are assessed before development, keeping priorities, timelines and budget clear.
Handover, documentation and continuity
We agree where the application will be hosted, how access is managed and which documentation will be delivered. The proposal should explain support, updates and third-party dependencies. It is also useful to define data export and how another professional could continue the work if required.
Developing JCBOS gives me first-hand experience of these organisational and product decisions. You can read the context in my professional background. If your main requirement is to connect workflow steps, also explore workflow and CRM automation.
Questions about this service
Do we always need to build from scratch?
No. I first assess whether an existing tool can be adapted or several tools connected. Custom development is reserved for needs that justify it.
Can an application include AI?
Yes, when there is a suitable use case. We first define information sources, permissions, cost and human review.
How do we avoid uncontrolled scope growth?
Through a defined initial phase, acceptance criteria and reviews. Every new feature is linked to a need and assessed before development.
